He gained a post-graduate bursary, continuing his studies at the Royal Academy schools medical photography and was awarded silver medical photography and bronze medals for sculpture, graduating with a post-graduate diploma in 1979. Wright took up part-time post teaching art in a North London junior school, continuing his art practice medical photography and exhibiting. He was invited as a guest lecturer to teach on the Foundation course at St. Albans medical photography and Liverpool College of Art medical photography and Design Fine Art program. Wright was subsequently offered a permanent teaching post at Hertfordshire College of Art medical photography and Design, University of Hertfordshire, medical photography and developed a degree program in Art medical photography and Design. He was Course Leader for the Fine Art degree program 1993 - 99, medical photography and is currently a senior lecturer in the Fine Art program. Wright acted as a consultant on the Art School series for Dorling Kindersley, published in association with the Royal Academy of Arts, 1992, medical photography and authored two titles in the series, Introduction to Pastels medical photography and Mixed Media.
